Kennedy announces $1.6 million in Hurricane Ida aid for Houma-Terrebonne Housing Authority

WASHINGTON – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced a significant step towards aiding those affected by Hurricane Ida in southeast Louisiana. The senator unveiled a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant amounting to $1,575,627 dedicated to Louisiana disaster relief. The funding is specifically designated for the Houma-Terrebonne Housing Authority to support the creation and utilization of temporary offices in response to the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

Senator Kennedy expressed gratitude for the allocation, emphasizing its role in addressing the challenges faced by the community in the wake of the destructive hurricane. He stated, "Hurricane Ida left many in southeast Louisiana without a safe place to work. I’m grateful this $1.6 million will help cover the costs of temporary offices in Houma."
